Free knowledge does not apply to software only. With that in mind, fisl promotes, in partnership with popular culture initiatives, the Free Culture Festival. Many different artistic presentations involving debates, video shows and workshops devoted to themes such as free music and design, to stress that the issue goes beyond lines of code.

Just as in the expression that names the event, “Free”, here does not mean “at no charge”. Music, books, videos and all sorts of cultural products are free and their authors allow their use – how to say in any other way? - freely for non-commercial uses.

Besides, the cultural programming has parties organized for the badge-bearing public and a bars route, that offers discounts for those with badges. That’s an effort to integrate the community in the happy hour time.
