The International Free Software Workshop (WSL) is a scientific event that happens since 2000 inside fisl. The event is coordinated by Carlos D. Santos Jr. from University of Brasilia, Luis Felipe R. Murillo from University of California and Paulo Meirelles from University of São Paulo.
WSL relies on support from the Sociedade Brasileira de Computação (SBC, Brazilian Computing Society) and has a common goal with fisl, offering opportunities for teachers, researchers, students and many other professionals to introduce their scientific work, using or producing Free Software.
The event receives original academic/scientific works, related to research or case studies involving Free Software. Articles for presentation in the event are evaluated by a body of revisors, considering technical merit and relevance to the event. Accepted and presented are published in the event's annals.
WSL 2013 is organized in four sessions: (jul/04): Free Software and Educaction and Software Development Methodologies; (jul/05): Free Software and Globalization and Free and Open Source Case Studies. Sessions happen from 01:00PM to 05:00PM at room 40 A.
